Mostly made of EVA (ethylene‑vinyl acetate) – a soft, shock‑absorbent, thermoplastic material.
1. Examine oral hard and soft tissues, check for existing restorations or mobility
2. Take accurate upper dental arch impressions
3. Record proper jaw relationship and vertical dimension
4. Fabricate with uniform thickness for optimal shock absorption
5. Instruct patient on fitting, wearing, cleaning and replacement
